Lichtenberg in the east is down-to-earth, well-connected and affordable - and, with the Tierpark, home to one of Europe's largest landscape zoos, as well as the Stasi Museum in the former ministry complex. We do not (yet) run a curated hotel selection for Lichtenberg, but as a place to stay the district is underrated.
Business travellers and budget-conscious city visitors in particular benefit from the location: via S-Bahn and tram you reach Alexanderplatz in around 15 minutes, while room prices sit clearly below inner-city levels. Anyone after good value with a short ride into the centre should use the interactive map above to compare available houses with current prices.
