Family Hotels in Berlin
Family rooms, kids' beds, pool and garden - the strongest offering sits in Pankow and Reinickendorf.
What defines a family hotel: rooms for four or more, children's beds and often a pool, play area and a child-friendly breakfast buffet. The broadest range comes from Pankow, Reinickendorf and Treptow-Köpenick, all of them nicely linked to Tierpark, Mauerpark or Müggelsee.
Berlin is more family-friendly than its reputation suggests. For families, space and connections matter most: a room for four, a second bed without a surcharge, a breakfast that children actually like, and an S- or U-Bahn on the doorstep so that Museum Island and the Tierpark are reachable without long changes. Apartments with a kitchenette are often the calmer choice for longer stays.
The broadest family offering sits a little outside pricey Mitte - in Pankow, Reinickendorf and Treptow-Köpenick, where green spaces, lakes and playgrounds are right there. A pool and sauna are a bonus for rainy days. Before booking, check whether cots are free and up to what age children stay free in the parents' room - this varies considerably from house to house.
