On Museum Island, a UNESCO World Heritage site, five outstanding houses stand close together. It makes sense to settle on one or two museums beforehand, since covering everything in a single day is hardly feasible. Tickets with a fixed time slot help you skip the queues.
The island stretches between the Lustgarten and Berlin Cathedral and lies within walking distance of Unter den Linden and Hackescher Markt. The S-Bahn (Hackescher Markt) and the tram bring you straight there.
