Holocaust Memorial
The field of stelae designed by Peter Eisenman sits between the Brandenburg Gate and Potsdamer Platz and ranks among Europe's most significant memorials.
The Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe forms a field of 2,711 stelae you walk through, a deliberately quiet and affecting place. The underground Information Centre documents the victims and their life stories, and admission is free.
The memorial adjoins the Brandenburg Gate to the south and is linked on foot with the Tiergarten and Potsdamer Platz. Respectful conduct goes without saying, for it is a place of remembrance and not a photo backdrop.
